While often overlooked, flashing is vitally important when it comes to the viability of your roofing system: it keeps your roof watertight and airtight, protecting your home from the harsh elements Canadian weather can sometimes throw our way.
Flashing is placed around areas of the roofs surface where there are chimneys, vents, dormers, and/or skylights; if these areas are not appropriately sealed, you could be facing bothersome leaks…and expensive repair bills.
There’s a variety of flashing materials to choose from, including metal (the most durable and therefore, most expensive) plastic or composite materials.
